Why we love it

We are in LOVE with Palo Santo!  For those of you who aren't familiar with it, Bursera graveolens, known in Spanish as palo santo ("holy wood") is a wild tree native to Central and South America.  Aside from having an intoxicating, slightly minty and citrusy scent, the wood itself has an extremely high vibration and when burned like incense, can be used like sage to clear spaces and people of negative energy and raise their frequency.  Sounds amazing right?

The smoke from Palo Santo is clean, white, and fresh smelling...up lifting.  We liked it so much, and began using it frequently in our home to help keep our space free of lower energy, but realized that a side effect of using it was the over all feeling of enlivened mental clarity and sense of well being we received every time we used it.  As it turns out....

It's Good for You!

Rich in brain-oxygenating terpenes such as D-limonene and A-terpineol which give it its uplifting and positive qualities, Palo Santo is used in homeopathy for relieving common colds, flu symptoms, stress, asthma, headaches, anxiety, depression, inflammation, emotional pain and more.
Studies have shown that D-limonene has anti-cancer effects, and increases the levels of liver enzymes involved in detoxifying carcinogens and is what gives Palo Santo it's clean and uplifting scent.

In Essential Oil form, it's great for Aromatherapy and can also be used during massage work to assist in healing.  In fact, we've put sticks of it into coconut oil to make an infusion that can be used on the body daily.
Taken internally, Palo Santo can also be simmered in hot water and drank as a tea.  Great for calming the immune and nervous systems, and for faster recovery of illness from injury and inflammation.

Metaphysical uses

Historically, Palo Santo has been used for centuries by the Indigenous people of the Andes, Incas, Healers and Shamans.  Traditionally, it was burned as incense and used during sacred ceremonies to banish negativity and illness, and allow the positive light force of love and good fortune to bless ceremonies, spaces and people.   Emotional pain
