Where do we even start!? Rosemary has a long history of being one of the most celebrated and versatile herbs. Used for everything from cleansing and consecration, clarifying the mind and fighting depression, to making one hell of a roasted chicken, Aloha Elixir LOVES Rosemary so much we put it in our Harmonious Home soy intention candle.
Rosemary is easy to grow and propagate. You can grow it in a pot, or planted directly in the soil. Give this herb five to six hours of sun a day, and lots of fresh water. To grow from a cutting, dip the stem into Rootone and put it into 6" pot of soil. Keep damp for 3-6 weeks. Rosemary plants love Amethyst and Clear Quartz. Drop a few stones into the pot and watch it thrive! Folklore Rosemary is associated with goddesses, especially of the Sea. According to legend, it was draped around the Greek goddess Aphrodite when she rose from the waves. Catholic healers associated it with Mary. The legend says its flowers were once white, until Mary laid her cloak over them while resting. When she picked up her cloak again, they were blue. In fact, the flowers can be white, pink, blue or purple, depending on the variety. A healthy rosemary plant grows where a woman is the head of the family. Metaphysical Uses Use rosemary for cleansing the physical body, peace of mind, and releasing negative thought patterns and psychic purification. Calm an overactive mind and open the higher chakras to source energy. Chase away nightmares by putting some of the herb beneath your pillow at night. This will help you to remember your dreams, and can be useful when doing dream or journey work. Looking for love? add a few drops of Rosemary Essential Oil to your shampoo to uplift your energy and keep love on your mind. Rosemary brings in happiness, prosperity and longevity. Rosemary as Medicine Rosemary increases circulation and slightly raises the blood pressure warming the body from the inside out. Internally it stimulates the liver and digestion, promotes blood circulation, tones up the blood vessels, invigorates the mind, and increases your awareness. Use rosemary to increase healthy brain function and memory capacity. Scientific evidence suggests that rosemary stimulates the memory centers of the brain. TIP: use a sprig of rosemary as a book-marker or wear rosemary oil when studying for a test to help you recall information. Don't want branches lying around? Make a Rosemary tea! Steep two teaspoons of the dried flower tops in one cup of water for twenty minutes. Drink it alone, or make iced tea or sparkling lemonaide. Use the same infusion as a mouthwash for bad breath, or to ease symptoms of PMS or depression. As a bonus, it will also aid in preventing flatulence, bloating and disturbances of the intestines, stomach and gall bladder. This tonic is amazing for those who lack exercise such as the elderly and convalescent, or those who suffer from fatigue. Use rosemary externally in salves for eczema, wounds, sores and as a treatment for muscle and joint rheumatism. It will enliven you when added to soap or shampoos. Rosemary is also smoked as an herbal 'tobacco' to relieve asthma and lung conditions. A bath preparation made from rosemary leaves or oil of rosemary is refreshing and stimulating when one is fatigued and can help prevent headaches. Since the begining of time Angels have been present through all cultures and religions.
Around the turn of the millenium, before Myspace :), I encountered an entity at Kapiolani Women and Children's Hospital. It was hovering about a foot off the ground in a corner, smiling. The energy felt peaceful, calm and serene, as if time had stopped. You'll all be surprised to know what came flying out of my mouth at the moment I addressed it loudly: "Oh shit! You have NO WINGS!! People are gonna be PISSED!!" I still get a good laugh when I think about it, and had another opportunity to get a good giggle in when just a short month later I had a second encounter. I'd been driving back to town from Hawaii Kai. The sun wasn't particularly strong that day, but there was an incessant gleam in my eye as I drove past the Medical Center on H1. When I looked up, there, standing on the top of the Hospital was a HUGE angel, at least two stories tall....with MASSIVE wings. I laughed as we shared an inside joke, as if to say, "We show up however you're comfortable seeing us." While doing Lomi and intuitive consulting, I regularly see angels surrounding my clients. This inspired me to create a candle to help people better connect with the angelic realm. I started by creating an angelic essential oil blend scented with Kiele, a Hawaiian Gardenia. Each Angel candle is charged with specialized prayers, Lemurian seed crystals, rose quartz, selenite, and other semi-precious gems and stones. Use this candle for increasing intuition, spirit guide communication, and connecting with your guardian angels and angelic energy. Elevate your subconscious communication, meditation, channeling, energy clearing, and receiving divine guidance. Need the Angel's help to send remote healing? This beautiful, hand crafted and crystal charged candle will carry your intention to the ones who need it at the speed of light, on the wings of...well, Angels of course! Angels always play well for others. Use "Angel" to amplify the intention energy of your other Fire Elixirs. Ask your angels to lead the way to Love (Romantic Rose), bless your Home (Harmonious Home), create new opportunities (Road Opener), and fill your life with limitless prosperity (Abundant Future). Have you ever had an encounter with an Angel? Share your experience with us in the comment section below! We know you're ready to hop in the car and head down to one of our retailers, but WAIT! Angel by Aloha Elixir won't be ready till July. ***********UPDATE ANGEL Is available NOW. ********************** **Please support us by asking your like minded Ohana to sign up for our email list and like us on Facebook
Aloha Elixir loves mint! Here are some metaphysical reasons why mint makes our top pick for herb of the month.
Mint can bring money, healing, luck, and strength into your life. There are different kinds of mint we can find at our local nursery like orange mint, chocolate mint, peppermint, spearmint and so much more. You can grow mint very easily in your garden or even in a pot. Hawaii is the perfect clement for growing mint, give your plant about 4 to 6 hours of sun a day and lots of water it will take root very easily so make sure you are ready or it could turn in to a ground cover very quickly. The Greeks and Romans were famous for using mint in their food and beverage offerings. Bunches of mint were used as decoration on their tables during feats, and often burned as insence. The Egyptians were one of the first cultivators of peppermint often using it to freshen the breath. In fact, Peppermint is thought to have originated in Northern Africa and the Mediterranean. In an ancient Egyptian medical text dating to 1550 BC, mint is listed as calming to stomach pains. Mint was so valued in Egypt that it was used as a form of currency. Mint isn’t just great for helping you manifest money, it’s good for your health too! Mint can be used in beverages like your iced water, or made in to a tea. Have it growing in a pot by your front door and let it benefit your life as a live plant, or purchase it dried or fresh from your local health food store or favored market. Considered nutrient-dense, mint contains good amounts of fiber, iron, copper, calcium, folic acid, omega-3 concentrates, and it is low in calories. It is also known as a good source of ascorbic acid, potassium and manganese. When made into tea, mint eases stomach ache, anti-flatulence, bad breath, diarrhea, depression, insomnia, respiratory, cough, bronchitis, kidney stones, gallstones, headache, backache, neck pain, cold, flu, and altitude sickness. Use mint topically as a salve or essential oil. There are numerous brands of topical ointments at your local market. Use a mint salve, ointment or crème for cramps, aches and pains, eczema, lice itching, and insect bites. Because mint wards off lower energies, we use mint in most of our elixirs like Road Opener, Harmonious Home, and Abundant Future. Click on the button below to see our full range of products
